CANADIAN MUAY THAI OPEN EVENT MERCH

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to create a bold and impactful visual identity for the Canadian Muay Thai Open 2026 tournament through the design of a custom championship belt, hoodies, and T-shirts. The goal was to capture the intensity of Muay Thai while creating promotional pieces that would appeal to both athletes and fans of the sport. The designs needed to feel powerful, modern, and authentic to Muay Thai culture while remaining visually cohesive with the tournament’s branding and identity.

PROCESS

The design process began with researching Muay Thai culture, combat sports branding, and athletic merchandise to better understand the bold visual style commonly used in fight promotions and championship apparel. After collaborating with the client to establish the visual direction, I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create mockups for the championship belt, hoodies, and T-shirts. I focused on using strong typography, high-contrast colours, and impactful layouts to capture the intensity, discipline, and energy of Muay Thai while creating a cohesive identity that felt modern, competitive, and visually powerful for both athletes and fans.
